Primary School Incursions

We offer a range of STEAM incursions, delivered by our VIT registered teachers, catering to all primary levels (F - 6), all abilities and learning needs.

All of our incursions are linked to the VIC Curriculum, covering content from many of the learning areas and are a fantastic way to incorporate the ‘Capabilities’, Critical & Creative Thinking, Ethical Capability, Intercultural Capability and Personal & Social Capability.

We cover multiple topics and include lessons with woodwork, electronics, robotics, science, modern technologies, engineering, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, coding, mathematics and art.

INCURSIONS STARTING FROM $400 + GST

We offer our incursions for all Victorian Primary Schools, if you’re in another state or territory of Australia, check out our Creator Kitz! We can post these all over the country.

Incursions recommended for

Levels Foundation - 2

  • Students will investigate the location of places and features on world maps and globes and describe the direction and distance in relation to Australia. Students will work collaboratively as a team and use basic block coding to control Finch robots to explore floor mats of the world, marking their journey as they go. They will use production tools and equipment to construct their very own wooden clock with a map of the world engraved on the face.

  • Students will learn about different features, habitats and needs of animals. Exploring what happens when these habitats or needs change or disappear. They will use production tools and equipment to construct their very own wooden Insect hotel.

  • Students will investigate how different objects move and explore how a push or pull alters an object. They will use production tools and equipment to construct their very own pull-back car to take home. Which incorporates wooden laser cut parts and a spring loaded motor.

Incursions recommended for

Levels 3 - 4

  • Students will work collaboratively in teams, following directions, and using artificial intelligence to drive the Cutebot Pro robots around the world map floor mats to identify and learn about each of the countries/places they visit within Australia and its neighbours. Collecting a 3D printed animal from Australia or a neighbouring country to take home, showcasing their learning.

  • Students will investigate Earths rotation, and how this causes changes such as night and day. As well as the orbit of earth around the sun, and the moon around the earth. Students will use production tools and equipment to construct their very own Sun, Earth & Moon Desk Light with laser cut and 3D printed parts to take home.

  • Students will explore how forces are exerted on various objects, including contact and non-contact forces. Students will then use production tools and equipment to construct their very own wooden magnetic car, which uses the non-contact forces of opposing magnets to move about.

Incursions recommended for

Levels 5 - 6

  • Students will investigate various sources of energy, and how energy is transformed and carried within a circuit. Students will use production tools and equipment to construct their very own wooden Steady Hand game with laser cut parts and electronic components to take home.

  • Students will investigate how a light from a source forms shadows and can be absorbed, reflected and refracted. Students will use production tools and equipment to construct their very own laser cut acrylic LED light with a 3D printed base to take home.

  • Students will work collaboratively in teams to explore the major countries, cultures and landmarks of the Asian region by using artificial intelligence and the Cutebot Pro robots to explore the floor mats of Asia. Students will use production tools and equipment to construct their very own wooden Chaturanga set (Indian version of chess) to take home.
